Food Adventures: Brunch at Little Goat

Top Chef…where to start with my love for you. As a die hard fan since season one, yes I still remember “I’m not your bitch, bitch!”, I love this show for bringing “fancy pants” food to the masses and getting a younger generation excited about dining. Who else is getting excited about TC New Orleans ?!!

When I moved to Chicago last year Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard’s Girl & the Goat was on the top of my must try list, and it truly did not disappoint! When she recently opened Little Goat, her take on an east coast diner across the street from G& the G, Chicagoans lost their minds.

I recently visited Little Goat for brunch with my good friend D who was visiting from NYC and who used to watch Top Chef with me all the time when we lived together in Minneapolis. Great minds think alike, because we both could not resist from getting the Bulls Eye French Toast. An amazing medley of brioche french toast, perfectly cripsy fried chicken, an egg in the middle, drizzled with just enough bbq maple syrup and garnished with in season strawberries. Brunch perfection in one bite. A mimosa or cup of their delicious coffee goes well with the dish.

If you’re in Chicago and looking for the brunch, you must stop at Little Goat. Make sure to pop into the bakery next door to take some coffee & bread home with you.

Join in with everyone else in the diner getting their food porn shot and add the hashtags #foodadventures #emmacooks to be featured on the blog.
